Event check-in

QR code check-in for events

With Emisar you check people in with a QR code from any phone: every participant has a unique code in the app and on the badge, and door staff scan it at the entrance. Codes on iaBilet, Eventbrite, Oveit or Biletin tickets work too. Scanning continues without internet, and the dashboard shows who is in.

A unique QR code for every participant

The code is signed by the server and tied to the event: a code from another event is rejected, and a second scan of the same code is flagged at once.

  • The code is in the participant app and on the badge
  • The door opens one hour before the start
  • Search by e-mail for anyone who forgot their phone

Printable badges

Badges are printed from the browser on A4 sheets, with each participant’s QR code, name, company and role.

  • A6 format, 4 per sheet, or small, 8 per sheet
  • The event logo, colour and footer
  • A VIP label for special guests

Door staff

The organizer and colleagues with the reception role scan from the dashboard. On the Pro plan, you add your own door staff: they get a scan link for an entrance or a session room, with no access to the dashboard or contact details.

  • Rehearsal mode: the team practises before doors open and nothing is recorded
  • Self check-in: participants scan their own code on a tablet at the entrance
  • Our advice: one phone per 150 participants

Offline, with figures in real time

If the internet drops, scans stay on the phone and are sent automatically when the signal returns. Online, the dashboard shows at once how many people are in.

  • No double scans, even offline
  • Check-in at session room doors too, with internet
  • Arrivals by hour in the event report

Pricing

QR check-in, badges, self check-in and the attendance report are included in the Free plan for events of up to 500 participants. Door staff and the API are in the Pro plan.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a special scanner for check-in?

No. Any phone with a camera scans QR codes straight from the browser. Nothing is installed, not even on the door team’s phones.

Can I scan tickets sold on iaBilet, Eventbrite or Oveit?

Yes. Participants come in with their ticket code, imported automatically from iaBilet, Eventbrite, Oveit or Biletin. The scanner then accepts the code on the ticket. For iaBilet we can also mark the ticket used on their side, if you ask us to. Emisar does not sell tickets.

What happens if the internet drops at the door?

Scanning continues. Codes stay on the phone and are sent automatically when the signal returns; they are checked then, and duplicates are flagged.

What happens to a code scanned twice?

It is flagged at once: the scanner shows the participant is already checked in. A code from another event is rejected, because every code is signed by the server and tied to a single event.

How much does QR check-in cost?

Nothing, up to 500 participants: the Free plan includes check-in, badges and the attendance report. Door staff are in the Pro plan.
